Week 3 in Rome 5

Hi everybody! I hope you all had an awesome Christmas and I wish you all a happy New Year in advance. :)

Things here in Rome 5 are looking so good. I've been super blessed with great experiences and great people since I last wrote (then again, it happens every week!).

So, we have three new investigators as of last night! One is named Alessandro and we met him two weeks ago while we waited to get computer access. The other two are Mustafa and Katia and they have a little girl named Angy. She's seven months old and super cute! They're all very interested and open to learning about the gospel. There are still more potential investigators that we've been trying to contact so we have been very, very blessed in our work.

Just now on our way to the computers we had a crazy experience! Usually we write our e-mails in Monterotondo so we went there and left a note for one of our investigators on the windshield of her car (Elisabetta. She's the booomb and so funny. I'll write more about her later!). Then when we arrived we were told that the internet connection wasn't working. We decided to go back to Passo Corese even though it would cost us a little more. I have this saying when things go wrong or unexpectedly: "Gli imprevisti portano sempre le benedizioni!!" It means a change of plans always brings blessings. And honestly, every single time something goes not according to our plans, the Lord showers us with unexpected blessings.

When we got to the train station, the train for Passo Corese (the town we live in) was already coming! We didn't have to wait at all. That was impressive because it's never happened before. But then the best part is this: as we got on the train, a conductor looked at our nametags, reading our names out loud, and sat down with us and asked us questions about the Church. He had seen missionaries before and was able to talk to them but he didn't have a Book of Mormon and he said he would have liked to have one. And go figure, that morning I'd felt prompted to pack a copy in my bag!! I was more than happy to give it to him. He looked through it, asked a couple questions, and said he'd like to talk to us again. We gave him our contact info and too soon we had to get off at our stop. His name was Claudio. :)

I know that whole experience was nothing short of a miracle!! I'm grateful to the Lord for putting people in our path who have been prepared. Just goes to show that anything can happen, especially as missionaries. I could write a novel about all the people and miracles I've seen here, even the smallest and silliest things.

Okay, something really cool happened yesterday! There's a returned missionary from Austria (Anziano Wölzl) who served here in the Rome Mission who came to church yesterday (Sunday). He's only been home for three weeks and his parents already flew out here with him to visit the mission. Pretty sweet! And guess what? I talked to his parents in German and it was GREAT. Austrian German doesn't sound much like German German (haha) but I understood everything and was able to find the words when I talked. Gahh! Sooo cool! Anziano Puff was super super super stoked though because his German has gotten rusty out here and he's bilingual so as soon as Anziano Wölzl's parents showed up he was chatting away with them auf Deutsch (in German). He was red in the face, he was so excited and happy. Looks like somebody else feels the way I do about that language. :o)

I'd like to thank everybody for the constant flow of e-mails! You guys keep me so busy and it's so awesome to hear from all of you!! I can feel the love from here :)

Until next week!

Salve a tutti!

Abbiamo tre nuovi investigatori!
