General Conference was amazing! My
companion and I both received a lot of revelation for our investigators and
less-actives and have been discussing how to improve our teaching! We are so
excited for this new week. The Lord has been giving us many opportunities to improve, especially through zone conference and now general conference! It really
is going to be an amazing transfer!
We were supposed to have a lesson
with a new contact this week but she didn't show up and hasn't been answering
the phone. Nevertheless we were super prepared and had planned to invite her to
be baptized! We may not have had a lesson happen, but our role plays and
diligence in preparing gave us a great chance to
practice teaching the very first lesson with a new contact. Preach My Gospel
continues to be a great source of strength for us. I'm seeing change every day
and it's helping me feel that I'm really fulfilling my purpose. :)
So, GREAT news this week: we have a
baptismal date with Sonia for April 30th!!!!! She has been consistently
praying and reading the Book of Mormon and I'm sure that thanks to this she
will accept to be baptized once she gets her answer! This is a true miracle
because Sonia is very involved in her church and we
knew it wouldn't be easy for her to leave that all behind. And yet the power of
the Spirit has been working hard in her. She said if she feels that this church
really is the right one she'll make that change. Beautiful words. :) She wasn't
opposed to setting a baptismal date at all! We explained to her that we will be
giving her several invites in these upcoming weeks to prepare her in time and
she accepted that. I have seen so much progress in Sonia. It's still
incredible to me that once she was just a number on a list of former investigators
in our area book. The Lord works in wondrous ways. :)
Aurelia has been reading! She
didn't give us a clear answer when we gave her a baptismal date... She's a
little unsure at the moment. She's a teacher so she likes to understand
everything thoroughly. We've been explaining to her repeatedly that knowledge
isn't as important to God as a clear testimony. She wants to grow her faith but
she's getting hung up on the intellectual aspects of what she's been learning.
We're going to take a step back and focus on the Spirit and the Restoration this week. We felt
inspired that this would give her the strong foundation she needs.
We met with the German girls one
last time this week. It went great! We talked a little more about the Book of
Mormon and read a few verses together. Both of them left us their phone numbers
so they can keep up with the missionaries in their city when they go back! I
hope they keep investigating the church there.

These last two transfers have been
especially humbling for me. I'm not sure what's changed, but I've been noticing
and strengthening weaknesses I didn't even know existed. It's hard to admit it
when you've made a mistake. And it's hard to realize that you're not a perfect
missionary. But what would the point be if I were already perfect? I'm learning
so, so much from Sorella Bicchierri and all the other missionaries here! Each
and every day is an adventure! I'm excited to report back next week. :)

La Conferenza Generale è stata meravigliosa! Io e la mia collega abbiamo ricevuto molta rivelazione per i nostri simpatizzanti e membri meno attivi e abbiamo discusso come migliorare il nostro insegnamento! Siamo così emozionate per questa nuova settimana. Il Signore ci sta dando molte opportunità per migliorare, specialmente attraverso la conferenza di zona e ora la conferenza generale! Sarà davvero un trasferimento incredibile!
Dovevamo fare una lezione a un nuovo contatto questa settimana ma non è venuta e nè ha risposto al telefono. Nonostante ciò eravamo superpreparate e avevamo programmato di invitarla a farsi battezzare! Non abbiamo avuto la possibilità di fare la lezione, ma i nostri ruoli e la nostra diligenza nel prepararci ci hanno dato la grande opportunità di praticare l'insegnamento durante la prima vera e propria lezione con un nuovo contatto. Predicare il mio Vangelo continua ad essere una grande fonte di forza per noi. Sto vedendo cambiamenti ogni giorno e mi sta aiutando a sentire che sto davvero adempiendo il mio scopo. :)
Allora, GRANDE notizia questa settimana: abbiamo una data battesimale con Sonia il 30 aprile!!!! Ha pregato costantemente e letto il Libro di Mormon e sono sicura che grazie a ciò ha accettato di essere battezzata una volta che avrà ottenuto la sua risposta! Questo è un vero miracolo perchè Sonia è molto impegnata nella sua chiesa e sappiamo che non sarebbe facile per lei lasciarsi tutto quello dietro. Eppure il potere dello Spirito ha lavorato molto con lei. Ha detto che se sente che questa chiesa è davvero quella giusta allora farà quel cambiamento. Belle parole. :) Non è stata contraria a fissare una data battesimale per nulla!! Le abbiamo spiegato che le avremmo dato diversi inviti in queste settimane a venire per prepararla in tempo e lei lo ha accettato. Ho visto tanto progresso in Sonia. È ancora incredibile per me che una volta era solo un numero su una lista di passati simpatizzanti nel libro della nostra zona. Il Signore opera in maniere meravigliose. :)
Aurelia sta leggendo! Non ci ha dato una chiara risposta quando le abbiamo dato una data battesimale... È un po' insicura al momento. È un'insegnante così le piace capire tutto pienamente. Le abbiamo ripetutamente spiegato che la conoscenza non è così importante per Dio come una chiara testimonianza. Vuole far crescere la sua fede ma rimane aggrappata agli aspetti intellettuali ciò che sta imparando. Faremo un passo indietro e ci concentreremo sullo Spirito e la Restaurazione questa settimana. Ci siamo sentite ispirate che questo le avrebbe dato il grande fondamento di cui ha bisogno.
Ci siamo incontrate con le ragazze tedesche questa settimana per l'ultima volta. È andata benissimo! Abbiamo parlato un po' di più del Libro di Mormon e abbiamo letto alcuni versetti insieme. Entrambe ci hanno lasciato i loro numeri telefonici così che potranno mettersi in contatto con i missionari nella loro città quando torneranno a casa! Spero che continuino ad investigare la chiesa lì. :)
Questi ultimi due trasferimenti mi hanno reso particolarmente più umile. Non sono sicura di cosa sia cambiato ma ho notato e rafforzato debolezze che non sapevo neanche esistessero. È difficile ammetterlo quando si fa un errore. Ed è difficile rendersi conto che non si è un missionario perfetto. Ma quale sarebbe lo scopo se fossi già perfetta? Sto imparando così tanto da Sorella Bicchierri e da tutti i missionari qui! Ogni giorno è un'avventura! Sono emozionata di farvi rapporto la prossima settimana. :)
