Transfer 10, Week 7

Note: The names of the investigators and of the less-active members have been changed

News flash, everyone: I AM TRAINING AGAIN. WHAAAT ON EAAAARTH HHHHHHHHHHH dhskfkajfldnsldjsldjaldjaaajdl

It hasn't really sunk in yet. But I definitely feel much different than I did when I found out I was training for the first time back in September. (Wait, has it really been that long???) I was expecting a completely different turnout from these transfer calls but when I saw President calling I was like, Something really dramatic is about to happen... Hahaha. This transfer Italian sorelle will be coming in as well so who knows, maybe this greenie will be Italian. You'll all have to bite your nails until next Monday cuz I won't know who she is until she steps off the plane Thursday morning :D

So here's the lowdown on everyone in Sardegna, starting with Sassari. Sorella Littlefield is training too, so the Sardegna Zone is getting two greenies (new missionaries)! Woohoo!! Sorella McPheters is going to be STL and follow-up training Sorella Workman in Palermo 1, Anziano Castillo is going to be in Malta with Anziano Jones (he was in my first district! We go home together in May), and Anziano Draghi is staying and getting Anziano Souwan. Olbia: Anziano Larrain is staying and getting Anziano Blaylock and Anziano Just is going to Siracusa to be with Anziano Williams. Now for Cagliari... Sorella Clark is staying and getting Sorella Hamilton (HOLLAAAA), who will be finishing her mission here. Sorella Rossi is doing a blow-in (replacing a companionship) in Palermo 2 with... SORELLA HOLIDAY!!! WAAAHOOOO!!! And all the anziani in Cagliari and Oristano are staying!!!!! So a lot of crazy stuff is happening this transfer. It'll be fun. :D

I went to Sassari on a scambio this week and it was great!!! The train ride is like four hours long so that was hard, but the way back seemed shorter and Sorella Clark and I (Sorella Rossi is doing physical therapy so she couldn't come with me) saw a lot of landscapes that looked like Lord of the Rings. It was way cool. While we were in Sassari, Sorella McPheters and I talked to a guy in a shop that knew about English Course and also wanted to know more about the church. :) And after that we talked to a lady who's known the sorelle for a long time and has this shop with the MOST STUNNING collection of ceramics I have ever seen. I was so pumped. I caved and bought a little dish for €12. It was too pretty. :) Anyway, this lady started talking about religion and soon we were basically teaching her a lesson. It was awesome! It was really cool to be on a scambio (companion exchange) with Sorella McPheters again after nine months since we were comps in Rome. Her Italian has gotten even better and her missionary skills are on fire, just like last year but more fine-tuned. I'm really proud of her! And Sorella Littlefield is just a riot and a ball of energy. She's going to be suuuch a fun trainer! She and Sorella Clark might have wrestled on the floor after eating lunch... In skirts. Hahaha

This week the work was a little crazy because of scambios and Sorella Chandler getting ready to go back to Rome (she gets released this Tuesday) but we were still able to see some people. We're working with a lady from English Course named Aurelia. She has a TON of questions!! It's super hard to stay on topic haha she just wants to know so much. I think the sorelle used to teach her so she knows about Joseph Smith and has read a little bit of the Book of Mormon. Let's get her to church now. :)

Serena, one of our new converts, has a friend from her soccer team named Clara who we met with all together this week.  We talked to her about faith and found out that she used to pray a lot, but then something she prayed for didn't happen/go the way she planned and she lost her faith. It was a good conversation, and she likes the church. Her mom was talking to Serena's mom and she was really happy because apparently Clara has changed a lot since she started learning more about our faith. The gospel changes lives! :)

Annalisa still hasn't come to church, but when we saw her we invited her to come with her parents next Sunday. She seemed willing to do it, they just need to plan ahead and keep other commitments out of the way. I know everything will change for this family if they take this leap of faith!

Melita, one of our less-actives, didn't come to church because she was feeling lazy so she gave us permission to call her at 7:30 in the morning next Sunday, hahaha! I told Sorella Clark we need to sing to her really loud or something. Waking people up is fun. :D

We went to Lara's house twice, once to help her daughter Silvia with math and the other time so Sorella Rossi could says goodbye. Silvia told us she prays sometimes and that she feels more peaceful after she prays. Small testimony but she believes! So we're focusing more on her now. We found out that Lara and her mom don't really believe in God for various reasons, but Lara's dad converted to Judaism and had studied the Book of Mormon and oriental religions before making his choice. He knew a lot! He was 80 years old when he died (I don't know how long ago) but his mind was super active and he loved learning. It's too bad, I would have liked to meet him. Because of his example Lara and her mom are open to all religions and would be happy to know more about ours. It's so great to see people with open minds like that, and I'm praying the gospel will change their lives and help them have faith. :)

This week Elisa was home when we went to teach Barbara English. We shared a beautiful quote from Elder Holland with her about motherhood and that gave us the opportunity to talk a bit about the apostles. She asks a lot of questions but we haven't started officially teaching her yet because we can't quite gauge her interest. Piano piano :)

There are many more stories to tell and not enough time to do it. I love my mission so much. I love the people in Cagliari, and I hope my greenie will love them too! I wish everyone had a great week! Alla prossima :)

                                     TRADUZIONE IN ITALIANO

Evviva! Sorella McPheters diventera' STL (Senior Training Leader) e seguira'
all'addestratrice di Sorella Workman a Palermo 1, Anziano Castillo andra' a Malta con l'Anziano Jones (era nel mio primo distretto! Torneremo a casa insieme a maggio), Anziano Draghi rimane e avra' Anziano Souwan. Olbia: Anziano Larrain rimane e avra' Anziano Blayloc e Anziano Just andra' a Siracusa con l'Anziano Williams.

Facciamola venire in chiesa ora. :)
