Transfer 11, Week 5

Note: The names of the investigators have been changed

Another fantastic week here in Cagliari. Except for the fact that Anziano Borough, Anziano Nielsen, Anziano Rasband, and Anziano Houseman are aaaaall getting transferred out of our district. :( In their place we have Anziano Borden and Anziano Zappettini as zone leaders, Anziano Martin as district leader, and Anziano Rusch in Oristano with Anziano Scott! I already served with Anziano Rusch and Anziano Martin when I was in Ragusa so that's going to be awesome! But our current anziani will be missed. I think this district in particular has felt the most like family to me. It'll be hard to see them go but... That's the mission!

So, we now have two progressing investigators, Aurelia and Sonia! Miracles have been happening since Sonia received her blessing two weeks ago. Not only has she been reading the Book of Mormon, a woman at the hospital saw her reading it in the waiting room and Sonia was able to explain to her what it was and why we're called Latter-Day Saints! She had nothing but good things to say about the Church. I'm so grateful for the missionaries who taught her in the past and that we decided to call her back when she was just a number they had left us. I love Sonia so much! She has changed a ton since I first visited her nearly three months ago. We're going to invite her to be baptized this week. :)

Aurelia has been reading as well! She still has her doubts about baptism and it's very piano piano (slow) with her but... I have so much hope in her progress! She's putting in more effort and it shows in how enthusiastic she is about what she's learning. Her main problem is putting aside family time to come to church. So this week we're going to teach about the importance of keeping the Sabbath day holy.

Sandra is quitting smoking starting today! We saw her twice this week and talked about the importance of the gospel in our lives, then invited her to be taught all the missionary lessons. She gladly accepted. We've been bearing a lot of testimony to her about the power of prayer in quitting smoking and also receiving the strength to support her son, who is suffering from an addiction. She's grown a lot since I first met her as well. It's because of the Spirit, no doubt. The more we see her, the more we all love each other! She might as well be our mom. :)

On to the funny stories now. :) We were on the bus just yesterday and Sorella Clark and I went to the back of the bus where we could sit and talk to someone. There was a guy sitting alone so I said, "Let's go talk to him!" Sorella Clark pointed out that he was sleeping but we went anyway. I sat next to him and Sorella Clark sat across from me and just as I reached into my pocket to pull out a bigliettino (card) for him he started to snore SUPER LOUD!!! I don't know how I didn't bust out laughing but we sat there for fifteen minutes before I mustered up the courage to try to wake him. I turned to the guy and said, "Scusi, posso lasciarle questo bigliettino? Excuse me, could I leave you this card?" Response: biiiiiig snore! So I left the card on the seat next to him and got off the bus. And Sorella Bicchierri was laughing her head off because she had been watching from the other end of the bus the whole time!

What else... We got a new bishop yesterday! Super exciting! And we had an authentic Filipino lunch with Ruth, one of Anziano Borough and Anziano Bertoldo's investigators, and her family today! Three and a half spring rolls... I'm stuffed. Italy is treating me well.

Love all of you! Stay gold :)

È a causa dello Spirito, senza dubbio. Più ci vediamo e più ci amiamo! Potrebbe benissimo esserci madre. :)

Tre spring rolls e mezzo... Sono piena. L'Italia mi sta trattando bene.

Voglio bene a tutti! Rimanete in gamba :)

A guy was selling these on the street for the Festa della Donna (Women's Day) and he gifted them to us!
