Transfer 9, Week 2

Note: The names of the investigators have been changed

Another week gone! I'm slightly overwhelmed by how fast time is going but it's because we're so busy so I definitely can't complain. :)

We did some casa finding (door-to-door) the other day and by the grace of God someone agreed to listen to us!!! Judging by the voice on the intercom we were expecting a grown man to open the door and instead we found ourselves face-to-face with a sixteen-year-old boy!!! His name is Francesco. He was alone so we didn't come in but we briefly shared the Restoration with him and asked him some get-to-know-you questions. We were so shocked that we didn't really know what to say beforehand, so we were guided by the Spirit for sure. :) He gave us his number and invited us to come back when his mom would be home. We already thought of two members that would be great to have at lessons with him so we're very, very excited!!! Francesco lives in a narrow downhill alley that we normally never would have explored but our feet headed in that direction and we really liked his front door (it was fancy with a white stone frame and it was nicely lit so we couldn't resist ringing... hahaha) so I guess everything added up!

That same night someone else (a lady named Marianna) told us to come back another time!!! She was so kind as to ask us over the intercom how we were walking around late in the evening in the pouring rain. We told her we had umbrellas and she laughed and invited us back for coffee on a nicer day. She will soon find out why we don't drink it I guess. :) Just yesterday we tried stopping by again and she was standing right there in the doorway waiting for a friend!! The friend showed up literally fifteen seconds after we first approached Marianna so if we had come even half a minute later we would have lost her... It was insane. The Lord's timing really is flawless. Marianna is also a lot younger than she sounded over the citofono. She must not be older than thirty!

We weren't able to see any of our investigators this week, unfortunately. But all was not lost! We've been teaching a lot of potentials and we're still trying to gauge their interest... This week will clear things up! We have already set up a LOT of appointments!! We're also working with the members and planning on using the new Christmas video the Church released yesterday to bring about some miracles :) Christmas season is in the air and we're so excited to bring the Christmas spirit to everyone!

One of our potentials, Silvia, invited a friend over while we were visiting her and it turned out to be the cousin of one of our members... She met with the sisters 35 years ago in Ragusa!!! We shared the story of the Sons of Helaman and they totally loved it because we compared their story to the influence of mothers on children and young adults today. Silvia has had the Book of Mormon for a while and she said she hasn't read it but... With her, we really feel that the Book of Mormon is key! She's friends with Tina (Mario's wife, the anziani have been teaching him on and off for years and he should be getting baptized next month!!!!!!!) so we think that through teaching Silvia,Tina will warm up to the church!! Everything and everyone is connected. That is one thing you really grow to understand as a missionary.

I can't say much else other than the fact that Ragusa is faaaaaaantastic!!!! I will love it here until my very last day! Which might be next Thursday depending on transfer calls this Saturday... Gahhh crazy!!! We'll see what becomes of me next Monday. ^__^

Also, here's the link to the Christmas video if anyone's interested. It's definitely worth watching. :)

I'm counting down to Christmas. 25 days. And that concludes this week! Alla prossima!

                               TRADUZIONE IN ITALIANO
